God has blessed our congregation with over 12 acres of land (debt-free) just inside the city limits on O’Connor Road off IH-35 in a wonderful, very busy part of northeast San Antonio.  About half the acreage is an open field partially covered with wildflowers in the spring.  The remaining half is wooded area covered with brush and small trees and includes a dry creek-bed that runs along the tree line.  You can hear birds, see deer tracks, and observe signs of small forest animals inside the bustle of a large city.

God has guided and enabled us to carve out a 7/10 mile long walking trail in the shape of a dove which artistically overlays the wooded portion of our land.  The head of The Dove will just extend into the clear area.

There will be fifteen sites along or near the Dove Trail where a person will be abe to engage in contemplating a particular aspect of The Abundant Life including Salvation, Conformation, Lordship, Serving, Quiet Time, Sanctification, Forgiveness, Steps to Freedom & Deliverance, Healing the Heart, Suffering & Persecution, The Holy Spirit, Christian Fellowship & Love, Abundant Marriage, Abundant Parenting, and Financial Peace.  Each site will be simply marked with signage that blends with the environment.  Each will provide an opportunity for reflection, contemplation and prayer.

We believe The Dove could, in time, become a Christian tourist destination as God wills.  It will be a place not only for locals but our vision is for churches to use it as a ministry to bring their youth and college students from distant places.  It will be a location where people can take a break from the business of life and connect with God in a beautiful quiet place.


The Dove Trail has been marked out with staking.  Wood chips are being spread to help navigate.  Some twenty points of interest have been identified from which the fifteen sites will be selected and then made ready with minimal pruning and establishing a perimeter for each site.  Signage and rustic seating will also be placed at each site.
